My parents sold my childhood home in 2015, then spent four years as resident directors for the A Better Chance program in my hometown.

My husband and I bought our home down the street in 2019, seven months pregnant with our first baby boy.

When that baby was 9 months old, my parents moved into the loft above our garage — and nearly six years later, we’ve never looked back.
