Our Nantucket summer in review

What worked, what didn’t, and what I’d like to do differently next year.

We spent seven weeks on Nantucket this summer, and while I would (will!) do it again in a heartbeat, I also came home with a pretty clear list of things I’d like to do differently next year.

I’ve shared plenty of the fun parts of our summers on Nantucket over the years (and you can find my favorite lobster roll, the best blueberry muffins, and lots more in my Nantucket guide here!). But I thought it might be useful to share a little more of the behind-the-scenes logistics here: how we balance family time and childcare out there, what made this summer easier than summers past, and where I think we accidentally stretched ourselves too thin.

Some of these are details I probably wouldn’t get into on Instagram stories, but they’re also exactly the kind of practical information I find most helpful when other people share it. So in the spirit of a summer post-game analysis: here’s what worked, what didn’t, and what I’m already thinking about for next year.
